Wheat Field View
On a cross country road trip in May and June of 2014 we spent days driving past wheat field after alfalfa field after corn field. It went on for hundreds of miles. Sounds boring right? But it wasn’t. It was amazing. These are the fields that feed us and that feed the cows and other livestock that end up on our tables. We saw much more than the crops. We saw poverty. We saw feed lots with 10s of thousands of head of cattle crammed into very confined areas. We saw towns that are decimated from their family run businesses having been purchased and worked by Tyson and Monsanto and other large conglomerates that now run what used to be family run farms. Those families are castaways, their homes are abandoned on corporate property, and the towns they lived in are shells of what they once were. We saw 100 towns like that. As we drove through I photographed wheat and corn and alfalfa and interviewed some people asking about what happened. I will post some of those interviews when I get around to it but for now, I hope you enjoy this picture of the wheat.Drop us a note or call 203 208-2838 to discuss ideas, time frame, and pricing.
